The call for the prestigious Marie Curie Fellowships of the EU is now open. These are basically 2-year fully funded fellowships (including research and travel budget) at a postdoctoral level (from fresh graduates to more advanced researchers). The fellows are expected to have their own program of research (this is part of the proposal stage). Financial conditions are very good.
There are 3 kinds of fellowships:
- Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowships for Career Development (IEF): Support mobility between different European countries
- Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowships (IIF): Support mobility into European countries (from overseas countries)
- Marie Curie International Outgoing Fellowships for Career Development (IOF): Support mobility from European countries into overseas countries.
The closing date is the 18th of August 2009. More details including application details can be found in the following website
http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/dc/index.cfm?fuseaction=UserSite.FP7CallsPage
You can click on the selected fellowship. Then go to the 'Information Package' '+' sign, and download the 'Guide for Applicants' (this is probably the most relevant document). The 'Work Programme' includes details on salary and various allowances.
I would personally be willing to support at most two applications at the University of Cambridge, UK. Expressions of interest welcome in the broad areas of information theory, coding theory and wireless communications.
Sincerely,
Albert Guillen i Fabregas
