Accomodation

The school will be held at the Hotel Metropol in Ohrid.

Travel Information

Skopje is accesible by plane from all major cities in Europe and abroad. Several European airport hubs have daily direct flights to Skopje, including Vienna (Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and Swiss Air), Ljubljana (Adria Airways, Lufthansa and Swiss Air), Istanbul (Turkish Airlines), Zagreb (Croatia Airlines, Lufthansa), Belgrade (Yugoslav Airlines and Air France) etc.

Some of the budget airlines have direct flights to Skopje as well. Wizzair has direct flights from Memmingen/Munich West, Eindhoven, Malmo, Basel Mulhouse, Dortmund, Milan/Bergamo, London Luton and Venice/Treviso.

Transportation Skopje Airport - Ohrid 

Transfer between the Skopje Airport and Hotel Metropol in Ohrid will be organized for all school participants, according their arrival times. The cost of this transfer will be included in the registration fee.

Visa information

Please note that entry visa for Macedonia may be required for some of the participants. Detailed information about the visa requirements for foreign citizens can be found on the following link:

There are circumstancies under which foreign nationals which require entry visa for Macedonia are exempt from this rule. However, we advise all ESIT participants coming from countries for which entry visa is required, to contact directly (recommended per phone) the Macedonian embassy or consulate in the country of current residence for information. The Macedonian Embassy in Berlin, Germany is ommited from the list (by mistake). The link to the embassy is
http://www.missions.gov.mk/berlin/home/ . Please note that there is a generale consulate in Munich as well, but you will have to call the consulate personally and ask if visas can be issued by the consulate.
 
An official invitation letter will be provided for all participants under request. Please write an e-mail to
[email protected] , with subject "Invitation Letter" if you request an invitation letter. Please include your regular post address in the e-mail, so that the invitation letter can be sent to you per post as well.

If accomodation details or hotel reservation are required as accompanying documents for the visa application, please contact directly the event-organizing agency at [email protected] , with subject ESIT 2013, and they will provide you the documentation needed.

Sightseeing

An excursion to St. Naum and sightseeing activities will be included.
