Summary

Physical database design is the process of producing a detailed data model of a database. It is one of the most important phases in the cycle of database implementation. During the process of physical database design we need to consider about following sub processes: designing base relations, enterprise constraints for target DBMS, select appropriate file organizations, using secondary indexes and denormalization to improve performance, security mechanisms.
