Biography

Pablo M. Olmos was born in Granada, Spain, in 1984. He received the M.Sc./B.Sc.degrees in telecommunication engineering in 2008 and the Ph.D. degree in telecommunication engineering in 2011 from the University of Sevilla. He is currently an assistant professor at University Carlos III in Madrid. He has visited Princeton University and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) as invited researcher. His research interests lie in machine learning, approximate inference methods for Bayesian learning and its applications to coding and information theory and digital communications.

Currently, he is working in collaboration with Prof. Rüdiger Urbanke in the analysis of finite-length convolutional LDPC codes and the scaling behavior with respect the code parameters. During 2012, he has joined the Laboratory for Probabilistic Machine Learning (LAPMAL) at EPFL as visiting professor.
