Biography

Prakash Ishwar is an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at BU. He received the BTech degree in EE from IIT-Bombay in 1996, and the MS and PhD degrees in ECE from UIUC in 1998 and 2002 respectively. He was a post-doctoral researcher in the EECS department at UC-Berkeley from Aug 2002 to Dec 2004 and joined BU in Jan 2005. His research interests are in information theory (network source coding and security) and signal processing (distributed, statistical, and multidimensional). He served as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing from 2012-2013 and as an elected member of the IEEE Image Video and Multidimensional Signal Processing Technical Committee from 2009-2012.
